John

John is the founder of Genesis Hair & Day Spa and has been part of the beauty industry for more than four decades. In 1979, he opened the salon alongside his sister, Patricia, building what would become a longstanding part of the community and a place where generations of guests have come to feel welcomed and cared for.

Throughout his career, John has been known for his precision haircutting skills and expertise in men’s grooming, as well as his friendly personality and easygoing nature that quickly puts guests at ease. With years of experience behind the chair, he brings both craftsmanship and a relaxed, conversational atmosphere to every appointment. Today John works limited hours in the salon but remains a constant presence around Genesis. In addition to being the salon’s founder, he is also the building owner, resident handyman, and unofficial “maintenance guy”, often popping in to fix something, check on a project, or simply say hello to the team and guests.

Outside of the salon, John enjoys cooking, neighborhood poker nights, and tackling the many projects waiting for him at home. He is also passionate about caring for the small lake near his home and often encourages neighbors to help keep the water healthy and thriving. One of John’s favorite ways to spend time is fishing with his older brother, Lee—a tradition he looks forward to whenever he can. John is proud to see Genesis continue to grow with the next generation of leadership and enjoys being part of the community and the team that has grown from the salon he started more than 40 years ago.
